It is a religious centre for Nepal's considerable population of Tibetans. It supposedly dates from the fifth century. The entrance door flanked by the Four guardian Kings is on the top floor. A few pilgrims sit on the floor in front of statues of Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) in the middle with Avalokiteshvara on the far left and Buddha on the far right.
