Iceland 12 01 Skaftafell Svartifoss Long View [28 of 47]
Bordered by Örćfajökull to the east and Skeidarárjökull to the west, Skaftafell National Park is Iceland’s largest with barren lowland sandurs, highland slopes brimming with wildflowers, sharp mountain ridges, and glaciers. From the visitor’s centre we walked on the easy track for 30 minutes to Svartifoss, a lovely waterfall flanked by unusual overhanging basalt columns.
