In 2008, I entered Thame after crossing the Tashi Lapcha Pass. The trail was easy from Thengpo Kharka, taking 65 minutes to reach the interesting Thame gompa, high above the Thame village. The Thame (3820m) village has a police checkpost and a few lodges and tea shops.
