The Everest North Base Camp has memorials to some of the dead climbers, reminding us what a dangerous mountain Everest can be. I was especially moved by the Everest North Base Camp memorial to Marty Hoey who died on May 15, 1982 when she leaned back on her harness to have a rest at 8200m, and the harness came undone.
