The two-story Sheikh Saeed al-Maktoum (ruler of Dubai from 1921 to 1958) House was built in 1896 and was reopened as a museum in 1986, housing an exhibition of photos, mainly from the 1940s, 50s and 60s, documenting the history and development of Dubai. The house has a wind tower at each corner of the courtyard. It was built of coral quarried from the Gulf and then covered with lime and plaster around a courtyard.
