23 Cuba - Havana Vedado - Edificio Focsa, Hotel Nacional, and Malecon  [9 of 18]

The Malecon stretches from Havana Centro towards Vedado with views of the Hotel Nacional and Focsa. The modernist Edificio Focsa building was built between 1954 and 1956. With 36 floors, it was on its completion in June 1956 the second-largest concrete structure of its type in the world, constructed in its entirety without the use of cranes. I wanted to eat at the top-floor restaurant La Torre for both the food and the views, but the weather was too bad.
